This will allow them to charge a higher amount and not have to worry about making sure they sell all of the product that they produced. This is counter to most marketing methods, which generally try to produce a product as cheaply as possible and sell as many as possible. The Expensive Shoe market is a very small market, but plays an important part of the shoe making industry and that is to drive new designs. Shoemakers would love to produce the same shoe year after, it would be much cheaper and easier, but this would lead to a reduction in the amount of shoes needed each year and less shoemakers.
