I can't wait for the cupcake line, at Pastry Shoes

Pastry Shoes were started by Vanessa and Angela Simmons they are the oldest daughters of Joseph “Rev Run” Simmons a founding member of the hip-hop group Run DMC. The shoe line started in 2006 and was a hit from the start. They started the shoe line with 4 stores and the line quickly became a run way hit. The company report doing over $15 million dollars in sales the first year and earned over $50 million the second year. Not bad for just starting out. It appears that a substantial stake in the company is owned by their father who refers to them as his business partners. Exactly how much was invested in the company to get this type of super star take off has not been reported.

Pastry kids hightops have been released and are currently available on line for $45. There a a pink hightop sneaker made with patent leather uppers and red shoe strings. They fit in nicely with the rest of the line and can be worn both to work out and just to look good. The complete line can be purchase online at shoes.com or at you local shoe store. Pastry shoes are made fro women and children , sorry guys none for you yet. Since the line is focused on fashion it is hard to say if or when the girls will break into the male line of athletic wear.

The Pastry Shoes includes both handbags and clothing. The handbags inlcude one called the Glam Giraffe Hobo. I’m not sure if any hobos will be carry this around, but it does help to solidify the line and give it some breadth.

The apparel line does not have the same pop as the shoes. It is slacks, t-shirts and hoodies. These come with designs that make it hard to see the branding. All the clothes look nice, but are not see as runway hits, as the mainstay of the line, the shoes do. I would love to eat the shoes, but will have to wait for the organic line to come out!
